Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to Solaris Motors Solutions (company no. 17453249) services on www.solarismotorssolutions.co.uk, www.solarisfiles.co.uk, and related customer, dealer, technician and staff portals.

It sits alongside the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, File service disclaimer and Ownership / security policy. If you do not agree, do not use the services.

1. Who this applies to

This AUP applies to anyone who uses the sites or portals, including:

  • visitors and customers;
  • dealers / remappers using the file portal;
  • field technicians;
  • staff users;
  • anyone acting on behalf of an account holder.

2. Lawful use only

You must not use the services:

  • for any criminal offence, fraud, or to assist others to commit one;
  • to work on a vehicle without the owner’s authority or a lawful right;
  • to evade theft, immobiliser, tracking or other security systems except as a legitimate locksmith job after ownership / authority checks;
  • to request, supply or use files for stolen vehicles, cloned identities, or unlawful emissions / tachograph / speed-limiter defeat where that would be illegal;
  • in breach of UK road traffic, insurance, type-approval or consumer law that applies to you.

We may refuse, pause or reverse work, and may report suspected crime to the police or other authorities.

3. Accounts and security

  • Provide accurate details. Do not impersonate another person or business.
  • Keep login details confidential. Do not share staff or dealer logins.
  • Do not try to access another user’s account, jobs, files or data.
  • Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • Do not create accounts to evade a suspension or ban.

4. Vehicles, bookings and locksmith work

  • You confirm you are the owner or have the owner’s authority for the booking.
  • Give accurate VRM, location, access and contact details.
  • Do not book locksmith or security-sensitive work to gain access you are not entitled to.
  • Comply with ownership / authority checks. Work may stop if checks fail.
  • Do not use coverage or booking tools to harass technicians or customers.

5. Dealer file portal (www.solarisfiles.co.uk)

  • The portal is for competent trade users, not unskilled flashing by the public.
  • Upload only files and data you are entitled to process.
  • Keep backups of original files.
  • Do not resell or redistribute portal outputs except as allowed for the stated vehicle/job.
  • Do not request files you know are for a stolen vehicle or unlawful purpose.
  • Do not attempt to reverse engineer pricing, credits or other users’ jobs.

6. Field technicians

  • Only accept jobs you are competent, insured and equipped to do.
  • Keep skills, coverage, contact and qualification information accurate.
  • Use customer data only for the assigned job. Do not keep or share it afterwards except as required by law or the engagement.
  • Update job status honestly.
  • Do not poach or misuse customer details obtained through the platform for competing work in breach of any separate agreement.

7. Coverage map and location tools

  • The public coverage checker is for customers to see approximate availability.
  • Technician pins are jittered / sector-level. Do not use them to find or attend a technician’s home.
  • Do not scrape, bulk-query or automate the coverage API to map the network.
  • Do not republish technician locations or personal details.

8. Prohibited technical abuse

  • Malware, scraping at scale, credential stuffing, or brute-force login attempts;
  • Bypassing rate limits, paywalls, credits or role checks;
  • Interfering with hosting, databases, email or payment flows;
  • Probing other users’ data or APIs you are not authorised to use.

9. Content and communications

  • Do not send abusive, threatening or discriminatory messages to staff, technicians or customers.
  • Do not upload unlawful, infringing or malicious files.
  • Do not use contact forms or email for spam.

10. Enforcement

We may warn, suspend or terminate accounts, decline jobs, withhold files, reverse credits where lawful, and cooperate with law enforcement. We may also take any other action in the Terms. Serious or repeated breaches may be reported.
